Orographic cloud

A cloud that forms as a result of air being forced to rise over elevated terrain, such as mountains or hills. As the air ascends, it cools adiabatically, leading to condensation and cloud formation. Lenticular clouds are a common type of orographic cloud, often appearing stationary over mountain peaks.
