Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007600

To scale data values to a standard range or distribution, often between 0 and 1 or with a mean of 0 and a standard deviation of 1. This process is applied in atmospheric science to make different datasets comparable, reduce the influence of varying units, or prepare data for statistical analysis and machine learning models. Common methods include min-max scaling or z-score standardization.
