Standard error
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009191
A measure of the statistical accuracy of an estimate, representing the standard deviation of the sampling distribution of a statistic. It quantifies the expected variability of an estimate if the same measurement or experiment were repeated multiple times. For a mean, it is calculated by dividing the sample standard deviation by the square root of the sample size.
