Mean-square error
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007172
A measure of the average of the squares of the errors, representing the difference between values predicted by a model or estimator and the true values. It quantifies the overall magnitude of the errors, with larger values indicating poorer model performance. This metric is widely used in atmospheric science for evaluating the accuracy of numerical weather predictions and climate models.
