Forecasting error

The quantitative difference between a predicted meteorological value and the actual observed value at the specified time and location. This metric is used to assess the accuracy and reliability of weather predictions. Forecasting errors can be analyzed to identify biases in models or to evaluate the skill of different forecasting techniques.
