Obstacle flow signature
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007652
A characteristic pattern observed in radar or satellite imagery that indicates the presence of air flowing around a topographic barrier, such as a mountain range. This signature often includes features like wake vortices, lee waves, or areas of enhanced or suppressed precipitation downwind of the obstacle.
