Ogive

A pointed, arch-like curve or shape, often referring to the nose cone of a projectile or the leading edge of an airfoil. In meteorology, it can describe the characteristic shape of certain cloud formations or the profile of a wind shear layer. The term is also used in glaciology to describe wave-like bands on glacier surfaces.
