Pacific Deep Water

A large, cold, and saline water mass that occupies the deep basins of the Pacific Ocean, originating from the mixing of Antarctic Bottom Water and North Pacific Intermediate Water. It flows northward from the Southern Ocean, filling the abyssal depths and influencing global ocean circulation patterns. This water mass is characterized by its relatively high oxygen content compared to other deep ocean waters.
