Pixel

A single, discrete element within a digital image or display, representing the smallest addressable unit of a picture. In meteorology, pixels form the individual data points in satellite imagery or radar scans, each corresponding to a specific geographic location. The resolution of a meteorological image is often expressed in terms of the size of its pixels, such as 1-kilometer pixels.
