Pleistocene glaciation

The series of extensive glacial advances and retreats that occurred during the Pleistocene epoch, covering large portions of the Northern Hemisphere with ice sheets. These glaciations significantly altered global climate, sea levels, and landforms, leaving behind characteristic glacial deposits and erosional features. At its maximum extent, ice sheets covered up to 30% of Earth's land surface.
