Prognostic contour chart

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008175

A weather chart that illustrates the predicted future values of a meteorological variable using isolines, or contours. These charts are generated by numerical weather prediction models and show the forecast distribution of quantities like geopotential height, temperature, or pressure at a specific atmospheric level. They provide a visual representation of future atmospheric structures.
