Quadrant electrometer

An electrostatic instrument used to measure small electrical charges or potentials, historically employed in atmospheric electricity studies. It consists of a light metal vane suspended within four charged quadrants, with its deflection indicating the potential difference. This device was instrumental in early investigations of atmospheric electric fields.
