Electrostatic electrometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005340
A type of electrometer that measures electric potential or charge by detecting the electrostatic force between charged objects. It typically uses a movable vane or fiber that deflects in the presence of an electric field. These instruments are highly sensitive and are used in atmospheric science to measure the Earth's electric field and the charge on cloud particles.
