Electrostatic precipitator
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005341
An air pollution control device that removes fine particulate matter, such as dust and smoke, from a gas stream by using an induced electrostatic charge. Particles are charged as they pass through an electric field and then collected on oppositely charged plates. These devices are commonly used in industrial settings like power plants and cement factories to reduce emissions.
