Element
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-000844
A pure substance consisting of only one type of atom, characterized by a specific number of protons in its nucleus. Elements cannot be broken down into simpler substances by ordinary chemical means. In atmospheric science, common elements include nitrogen, oxygen, argon, and hydrogen, which form the bulk of the Earth's atmosphere.
One of the basic conditions of the atmosphere discussed in this FMH (wind, visibility, runway visual range, weather, obscurations, sky condition,
temperature and dewpoint, and pressure). See parameter
