Water molecule
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-010110
A chemical compound consisting of two hydrogen atoms covalently bonded to one oxygen atom, represented by the formula H2O. Its bent molecular geometry and polar nature allow it to form hydrogen bonds, which are responsible for many of water's unique physical and chemical properties. These properties include its high specific heat capacity and its ability to exist in solid, liquid, and gaseous phases within Earth's atmospheric temperature range.
