Nitrate ion
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-007542
A polyatomic anion with the chemical formula NO3-, consisting of one nitrogen atom covalently bonded to three oxygen atoms, carrying a net charge of -1. It is a common component of atmospheric aerosols and precipitation, formed through the oxidation of nitrogen oxides.
