Radio direction finder

An instrument used to determine the direction from which a radio signal is originating, by measuring the angle of arrival of the radio waves. It typically employs a directional antenna and a receiver. This device is used in meteorology for tracking weather balloons equipped with radio transmitters or locating sources of atmospheric radio noise.
