Direction finder

Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005040

A radio receiver system equipped with a directional antenna used to determine the bearing or direction of a radio signal source. In meteorology, direction finders are employed to locate lightning strikes by detecting the radio waves emitted during a discharge. This technology contributes to lightning detection networks and severe weather forecasting.
