Cathode-ray radiogoniometer
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-004199
A direction-finding instrument that uses a cathode-ray tube to visually display the bearing of a radio signal. It operates by comparing the phase or amplitude of signals received by multiple antennas, allowing for precise determination of the signal source. This technology was historically used for tracking thunderstorms by detecting their radio emissions.
