An object or phenomenon that emits electromagnetic radiation in the radio frequency portion of the spectrum. In atmospheric science, this can refer to natural emissions from lightning or cosmic sources, or artificial signals used for remote sensing. Radio telescopes are employed to detect and analyze these emissions.
