Radio wave
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008332
A type of electromagnetic radiation with wavelengths longer than infrared light, typically ranging from about 1 millimeter to 100 kilometers. These waves are generated by oscillating electric charges and propagate through the atmosphere and space. They are used in meteorology for radar, communication, and remote sensing of atmospheric properties.
Electromagnetic radiation characterized by wavelengths longer than infrared light, spanning from approximately 1 millimeter to 100 kilometers. These waves are generated by accelerating electric charges and are used extensively in atmospheric science for remote sensing, communication, and radar systems. Their propagation is significantly affected by atmospheric composition and structure.
