Electromagnetic wave
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005323
A wave composed of oscillating electric and magnetic fields that are perpendicular to each other and to the direction of wave propagation. These waves do not require a medium to travel and can move through a vacuum at the speed of light. Examples include visible light, radio waves, and microwaves, all of which are used in meteorological sensing.
