Electromagnetic radiation
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005320
A form of energy propagated through space or a medium as waves of coupled electric and magnetic fields. This energy moves through a vacuum at a constant speed of approximately 300,000 kilometers per second. The electromagnetic spectrum encompasses a continuum of wavelengths, from long radio waves to short gamma rays, including the visible light that drives weather and climate.
