Relaxation of a trough
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008515
The process by which an atmospheric trough, an elongated area of relatively low atmospheric pressure, weakens and becomes less pronounced over time. This weakening involves a decrease in the pressure gradient across the trough and a reduction in the associated wind shear. It often signifies a transition towards more stable atmospheric conditions in the affected region.
