Foehn trough
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005678
An elongated area of relatively low atmospheric pressure that forms on the lee side of a mountain range during a foehn event. This trough is a dynamic feature associated with the descending air and can enhance the foehn effect by increasing the pressure gradient. It often appears as a V-shaped indentation in isobaric lines on weather charts.
