Foehn cyclone
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-005671
A mesoscale cyclonic circulation that can develop on the lee side of a mountain range during strong foehn events. This cyclonic vortex is induced by the interaction of the downslope foehn flow with the ambient atmospheric circulation. It can lead to localized wind shifts and enhanced foehn effects in specific areas.
