Salt seeding
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008638
A weather modification technique that involves introducing hygroscopic salt particles into clouds to enhance precipitation. These particles act as giant cloud condensation nuclei, attracting water vapor and growing into larger droplets more efficiently than natural nuclei. This method is typically applied to warm clouds that are not cold enough for ice-based seeding techniques.
