Salt lens

A localized body of highly saline water that forms within a larger freshwater or less saline water mass, often due to specific hydrological or geological conditions. In coastal aquifers, it can refer to an intrusion of seawater that forms a lens shape beneath freshwater. This phenomenon is relevant to understanding groundwater resources and coastal ecosystem dynamics.
