Seasat'' surface wind
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-008727
Surface wind measurements derived from data collected by the Seasat satellite, which operated in 1978. The satellite carried a scatterometer instrument that measured the backscatter of microwave radiation from the ocean surface, allowing for the inference of wind speed and direction. These data provided early global observations of ocean surface winds.
