Inference

The process of deriving conclusions or making predictions based on available data, observations, or established knowledge. In meteorology, this often involves using current atmospheric conditions and physical laws to forecast future weather states or to deduce unobserved parameters. Statistical methods and numerical models are frequently employed for meteorological inference.
