Sector scan

A mode of radar operation where the antenna sweeps back and forth over a limited angular range rather than performing a full 360-degree rotation. This technique allows for more frequent updates of weather information within a specific area of interest. It is often used to monitor rapidly developing severe storms or localized phenomena.
