Skiron

The ancient Greek name for a northwesterly wind, particularly one that is dry, gusty, and associated with the summer season. In Greek mythology, Skiron was one of the Anemoi, or wind gods, representing the northwest wind. The term is sometimes used in modern contexts to describe the Etesian winds when they blow from a more northwesterly direction over the Aegean Sea.
