Slant visibility

The maximum distance at which an observer can see and identify objects along a line of sight that is inclined to the horizontal. This measurement is particularly relevant for aircraft operations during approach and landing, where the pilot's view of the runway is at an angle. It differs from horizontal visibility, which is measured along a level path.
