Standard atmospheric pressure
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009187
The average atmospheric pressure at mean sea level, defined as 1013.25 hectopascals (hPa) or 29.92 inches of mercury. This value serves as a reference point for meteorological observations and altimeter settings. It represents the pressure exerted by a column of air extending from sea level to the top of the atmosphere under standard conditions.
