A specific cloud type and species combination, referring to stratocumulus clouds that are arranged in a relatively flat, extensive sheet or layer. This formation indicates that the convective elements within the cloud are spread out horizontally rather than developing vertically. It often covers a large portion of the sky, with individual cloud elements appearing somewhat flattened and merged.
