Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009385

The electromagnetic radiation emitted by the Sun, particularly in the visible, ultraviolet, and infrared spectra, that reaches the Earth's surface. It is the primary energy source driving atmospheric processes, photosynthesis, and the Earth's climate system. The intensity and duration of sunlight vary with latitude, season, time of day, and atmospheric conditions, such as cloud cover.
