Tetroon
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009567
A constant-level balloon, typically tetrahedral in shape, designed to float at a specific density altitude. It is used to track air parcel trajectories and study atmospheric dispersion over short to medium distances. The tetroon's movement is monitored by radar or other tracking systems, providing insights into wind patterns at a particular height.
