Tethersonde

A meteorological instrument package carried aloft by a tethered balloon to measure atmospheric conditions. It typically includes sensors for temperature, humidity, pressure, and wind speed and direction. Data from a tethersonde are transmitted to a ground station, providing a vertical profile of the lower atmosphere.
