Thundersnow
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009648

This happens when atmospheric conditions are unstable enough to support deep convection, similar to a summer thunderstorm, but with temperatures cold enough for precipitation to fall as snow. Thundersnow often indicates a particularly intense snow band.
