Tropic of Capricorn

The southernmost circle of latitude on Earth at which the sun can be directly overhead at noon, occurring at the summer solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. This line is located approximately 23.5 degrees south of the Equator. It marks the southern boundary of the tropics.
