Unsteady flow
Term · Meteorology and atmospheric science · MLC-T-MET-009902
Fluid motion where the velocity, pressure, or other flow properties at a given point change with time. In meteorology, this describes atmospheric or oceanic currents that are not constant, exhibiting variations in speed or direction over a period. Most atmospheric flows are inherently unsteady, driven by diurnal cycles, synoptic weather systems, and turbulent eddies.
