Wave climate

The long-term statistical distribution of wave characteristics, such as height, period, and direction, at a particular location. It describes the typical wave conditions and their variability over seasons or years, rather than instantaneous wave states. This information is used in coastal engineering, marine navigation, and offshore structure design.
