Boyle's Law Double Cell
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-000440
A laboratory method for measuring the porosity of rock samples using two interconnected chambers and applying Boyle's Law. A known volume of gas is expanded from a reference cell into a sample cell containing the rock, and the resulting pressure change is used to calculate the grain volume and then the porosity. This technique provides accurate porosity measurements for core plugs.
