Load cell
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002202
A transducer that converts a force into an electrical signal, used to measure weight or tension in drilling and well intervention operations. It typically consists of a strain gauge bonded to an elastic element that deforms under load. Load cells provide real-time data for monitoring hook load, drill string weight, and other forces on the rig.
