Load oil

Hydrocarbon liquid injected into a well during stimulation treatments, such as fracturing or acidizing, to carry proppant or acid into the formation. It is designed to be recovered from the well after the treatment, along with formation fluids. Load oil is often a refined product like diesel or kerosene, chosen for its compatibility with reservoir fluids and treatment chemicals.
