Porosimeter

Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002869

A laboratory instrument used to measure the porosity of rock samples, typically core plugs. It works by determining the bulk volume and grain volume of the sample, with the difference representing the pore volume. Common methods include gas expansion (helium porosimetry) or fluid saturation techniques, yielding porosity as a percentage.
