Liquid saturation method
Term · Oil and gas · MLC-T-OAG-002185
A laboratory technique used to determine the porosity of core samples by saturating them with a liquid of known density and then measuring the volume of liquid absorbed. This method provides a direct measurement of the connected pore volume. It is a common procedure for calibrating log-derived porosity measurements.
