Saturation

The fraction of the pore volume in a rock that is occupied by a specific fluid, such as oil, gas, or water. It is expressed as a percentage or a decimal. Water saturation (Sw) and hydrocarbon saturation (Sh) are inversely related, with their sum equaling one in a two-phase system.
