Remaining oil saturation

The fraction of pore volume in a reservoir that is still occupied by oil after primary and secondary recovery processes have been completed. This saturation represents the oil that is not economically recoverable by conventional methods. It is a key parameter for evaluating the potential of enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques.
